ALPHARETTA, Ga. — October 12, 2026 — Arclin, a materials science company, today announced the launch of Kevlar® EXO™ XP E480, the latest innovation in its personal protection portfolio.

Combining the proven ballistic and trauma-reduction performance of Kevlar® XP technology with the advanced capabilities of Kevlar® EXO™ fiber, the new solution enables body armor manufacturers to achieve significantly lighter weight while meeting NIJ Level IIIA/HG2 protection requirements, helping improve wearer comfort, mobility, and operational effectiveness.

“Protective equipment is only effective if users can wear it comfortably throughout their entire mission,” said Joe Hovanec, Arclin’s Vice President of Kevlar® EXO™. “With Kevlar® EXO™ XP E480, manufacturers can achieve armor that is up to 25% lighter and provides up to 40% greater comfort*, helping reduce fatigue while maintaining the trusted protection users depend on.”

Engineered to perform in demanding field conditions, Kevlar® EXO™ XP E480 combines high stopping power, excellent bullet-flattening performance, and exceptional durability in a lighter-weight construction. The material’s unique fiber architecture also helps reduce layer counts and stitching requirements, enabling streamlined armor designs and potentially lowering manufacturing complexity and labor costs.

Kevlar® EXO™ XP E480 is now available for evaluation to customers worldwide. To learn more, visit XPE480 – Arclin.
