Combat-tested in Ukraine, DOD Solution raises €1.8 million to scale AI autonomy for unmanned systems

DOD Solution, an Estonian-Ukrainian DefenceTech company developing onboard autonomy for unmanned systems, has closed a €1.8 million ($2.1 million) pre-Seed funding round to accelerate the development and scaling of its AURA AI autonomy platform.

The round includes participation from Angel One Fund, Better Angle, Defence Builder Fund, Network VC, Newfund, UAID Fund, WildField Ventures and 4C-Next Holding AG. Canadian drone technology company Draganfly joined the round as a strategic investor.

“Autonomy needs to work across different unmanned systems and operational environments, rather than remain a capability tied to a single platform. Our focus now is to make AURA AI easier to integrate, faster to scale and capable of supporting increasingly demanding onboard applications. This round gives us the resources and the right partners to accelerate that transition,” says Roman Hapachylo, CEO of DOD Solution.

DOD Solution’s pre-Seed round comes amid continued investment into European drone autonomy and unmanned-systems technology in 2026.

EU-Startups has reported relevant financings including €1.8 million for Cambridge-based Mutable Tactics, €3 million for London’s Occam Industries, €12 million for Norway’s Six Robotics, €2 million for Lithuania’s PDKINEMATICS and €4.4 million for Dutch drone-software company AirHub, alongside a €15 million Series A for Finland’s Kelluu.

In Estonia, DOD Solution’s home market, Tallinn-based Frankenburg Technologies raised €30 million for missile and counter-drone defence capacity, providing a domestic comparison within the wider DefenceTech sector.

Together with adjacent rounds for WaiV Robotics and INLEAP Photonics, these selected 2026 financings amount to approximately €70 million, or around €96.4 million including DOD Solution’s new round.

Founded in 2023, DOD Solution develops onboard computers and autonomy systems for unmanned platforms. The company works with unmanned platform manufacturers to integrate AI-powered autonomy across defence applications.

AURA AI, its flagship product, is an onboard autonomy platform combining the AURA SBC onboard computer with AURA OS, the company’s autonomy software stack. The platform enables autonomous navigation, perception, target recognition and tracking, and terminal guidance when GPS or communications are degraded or unavailable.

It is designed for integration into different types of UAVs, including FPV drones, interceptor drones and fixed-wing UAVs. AURA AI has already been used in combat in Ukraine.

Partnerships have already developed between the company and Lantronix, Axelera AI and Defsecintel Solutions. These span onboard computing, AI acceleration and integrated counter-drone capabilities, supporting the company’s efforts to scale the integration of its autonomy technology across different unmanned platforms.

Today’s funding will support bringing the next generation of AURA SBC into production, advancing AURA OS and onboard AI capabilities, and accelerating integrations with unmanned platform manufacturers in Ukraine and international markets.

The next generation of AURA SBC is being developed for production at scale, supported by a robust component supply chain and with the goal of meeting NDAA-compliance requirements.

This will support DOD Solution’s expansion into European and North American markets.
