This year’s program adds an honorarium for three students who performed well in SSC
TEAM Group has awarded the Wahid-Kohinoor Memorial Scholarship 2026 to 36 meritorious students of Hazi Piar Ali School, the school located adjacent to its 4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd. facility in Savar. The annual ceremony was graced by the presence of Managing Director Afroza Shaheen and Deputy Managing Director Abdullah Hil Nakib.
This year, 18 primary-level students (KG to Class 5), 15 high-school students (Classes 6 to 10) and 3 SSC graduates were recognized. At both the primary and high-school levels, the scholarship was awarded on merit by position, with the first, second, and third position-holders of each class from KG to Class 10 receiving the award.
New this year: Three students who achieved good results in the SSC examination also received an honorarium, extending the program’s recognition beyond the school’s regular classes. A high-level delegation from the Kingdom of the Netherlands – Mr. Steven Collet, Vice Minister for International Cooperation; Ms. Wampie Libon, Ambassador for Sustainable Development; and Ambassador Joris van Bommel – visited 4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd., TEAM Group’s LEED Platinum-certified facility, to see how investments and Dutch-Bangladesh partnerships are advancing sustainability in the textile sector. The delegation briefly joined the scholarship event as the program began, before departing.
Addressing the students, Managing Director Afroza Shaheen urged them to carry their values as far as their grades.

About the scholarship: The scholarship was announced in June 2024 by the late Abdullah Hil Rakib, Founder and Managing Director of TEAM Group, to advance SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) in line with TEAM Group’s Sustainability Vision 2030. Many children of 4A Yarn Dyeing workers study at the school, which TEAM Group has supported through initiatives including a computer lab and stipends for the workers’ children’s school fees. The scholarship is awarded annually on merit; 33 students received it last year.
