Milliken & Company Charitable Foundation Commits $100,000 To Military Women’s Memorial, Sponsoring New Uniform Exhibit

SPARTANBURG, S.C.— November 6, 2026 — The Milliken & Company Charitable Foundation today announced the commitment of $100,000 over four years to the Military Women’s Memorial in Arlington, Virginia.

For more than 60 years, Milliken & Company fabric has been part of U.S. military uniforms worn by generations of service members, including many of the women honored at the Military Women’s Memorial.

As founding sponsor of the Memorial’s new uniform exhibit, the Milliken & Company Charitable Foundation will help share the stories of women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, using the same craftsmanship and connection to service that has defined our military partnership since World War II. The gift extends that longstanding connection while supporting the Memorial’s broader renovation and redesign into a modern museum.

“We’re grateful to every woman who has served our country, many of whom have worn uniforms made with Milliken fabric during their service,” said Marcio Manique, EVP and Managing Director for Milliken’s apparel business. “Supporting this exhibit is one way we can help ensure their contributions are seen, understood, and remembered for generations to come.”

The new exhibit will offer an opportunity to explore military women’s service through the uniforms that accompanied them on the battlefield and beyond. Milliken’s four-year commitment will support the Memorial as it develops the exhibit and advances its wider transformation.

“On behalf of the Military Women’s Memorial and the more than three million past and present servicewomen it represents, I extend our deepest gratitude to the Milliken & Company Charitable Foundation for its most generous financial commitment to the Memorial and its future,” said retired Army CW5 Phyllis Wilson, the Memorial’s president.

“Thanks to the Milliken & Company Charitable Foundation’s sponsorship of this planned, immersive exhibit, visitors from around the world will be introduced to America’s groundbreaking women who stepped up during World Wars I and II – women who broke down barriers and demonstrated their invaluable service – women who changed the military and the nation and laid the foundation for women serving today. We are honored to have the Milliken & Company Charitable Foundation support our important mission of telling the story of women’s service to the nation.”

The Memorial’s Phase 2 renovation, including engaging, reimagined exhibits like the Uniforms Exhibit, is anticipated to commence during the Memorial’s 30th anniversary year in 2027, with the overall project timeline and completion guided by the progress of the campaign.
