Avenue Supermarts shares fall 4% despite 18% YoY revenue growth in Q2 update
Avenue Supermarts shares fell 4.07% to Rs 3,657.70 on the NSE on Monday despite the DMart operator reporting an 18.4% year-on-year rise in standalone revenue from operations to Rs 19,206.18 crore in its Q2 FY27 business update.

The company’s quarterly update showed that revenue increased from Rs 16,218.79 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY26. Over the past three years, quarterly revenue has risen from Rs 12,307.72 crore in Q2 FY24 to Rs 19,206.18 crore in Q2 FY27.

DMart store count rises to 518

Avenue Supermarts had 518 stores as of September 30, 2026, according to the quarterly update. This includes one store at Sanpada, Navi Mumbai, which is currently closed to customers for reconstruction. The Q2 revenue figure is subject to limited review by the company’s statutory auditors. The quarterly update did not provide details on profit or margins.

Avenue Supermarts raises Rs 500 crore through commercial paper

Separately, DMart operator allotted commercial paper worth Rs 500 crore on September 30, with the instrument proposed to be listed on BSE. The commercial paper has a 90-day tenure, maturing on December 29, 2026, and carries a 6.12% coupon. It is unsecured and has been assigned an ICRA A1+ credit rating.

Avenue Supermarts shares have fallen 3.81% over the past week and 2.95% in a month. The stock is down 1.55% so far in 2026, while it has declined 17.20% over the past year.

Over a longer period, its shares have fallen 5.25% in three years and 14.06% in five years. The company has a market capitalisation of around Rs 2.38 lakh crore.
