ET Alpha Wealth Summit 2.0: How portfolio management is evolving with AI
Artificial intelligence is evolving rapidly from being a technology theme to becoming a practical tool for investment research, portfolio construction and risk management.

The question is no longer whether AI can influence portfolio management, but how deeply it will change the way investment decisions are made.

The topic will be in focus at the ET Alpha Wealth Summit 2.0: The Great Reallocation, set to be held in Mumbai on October 8, 2026. The summit will bring together HNIs, UHNIs, family offices, founders, investors and capital allocators for conversations around the forces reshaping wealth and capital allocation.

Among the key themes will be the growing role of AI in investing, with two dedicated sessions examining the technology from different perspectives.

Man or Machine? The future of portfolio management

This session, led by Sandeep Tandon, Founder, Quant Group, will explore how AI, algorithms and human judgement are converging to reshape portfolio construction, risk management and the future of wealth allocation.

As investment professionals gain access to vast amounts of market, company and alternative data, AI offers new ways to process information, identify patterns and make decisions more systematically. But data and algorithms have their limits.

The session will also examine where human judgement remains essential, particularly when markets are shaped by uncertainty, changing investor behaviour and events that historical data cannot fully capture.

AI in Portfolio Management

Market veterans Atul Suri, MD & CEO, Marathon Trends; Dhiraj Relli, MD & CEO, HDFC Securities; Ravi Dharamshi, Founder & CIO, ValueQuest; and Sonam Srivastava, Founder & CEO, Wright Research will come together the role of AI in portfolio management.

The panel will examine how AI is changing the way investment decisions are researched, executed and monitored, with a focus on where it can deliver measurable advantages. The discussion will also explore how AI can improve the speed and scale of analysis, automate parts of the investment process and strengthen portfolio monitoring.

Why the conversation matters

For investors, these sessions on how portfolio management is evolving with AI offer an opportunity to look beyond the technology itself and examine its implications for actual portfolio decisions.

The central question is whether the future belongs to machines, humans or a combination of both.

These sessions are part of a wider summit agenda focused on the changing architecture of wealth creation. The event will also cover global capital flows, alternative assets, structured debt, family-office investing, GIFT City, REITs and new investment strategies. The summit describes AI as one of the emerging new alpha levers, alongside global investments, GIFT City and private credit.

ET Alpha Wealth Summit 2.0 provides a forum to explore that shift with market practitioners who are actively engaged in portfolio management, research and wealth creation.
