Autonomous B2B trade gets a boost as Procuros raises €20M

Hamburg-based software company Procuros has raised €20 million in a Series A funding round to further develop its AI-native supply chain connectivity platform and expand internationally. The round was led by XAnge, with existing investors Point Nine, Creandum and b2venture participating alongside several angel investors.

Procuros is developing infrastructure designed to simplify how businesses exchange data across supply chains. The company is addressing a fragmented system in which businesses rely on traditional electronic data interchange (EDI), individual integrations and manual processes to exchange documents such as orders, dispatch advices and invoices.

According to Procuros, many transactions still arrive through PDFs, spreadsheets and fax, requiring employees to enter data, track documents, correct errors and manage exceptions. Integrating individual trading partners can also take months and require technical resources from both sides.

Procuros aims to replace this point-to-point model by allowing companies to connect once and exchange data with different trading partners, regardless of the systems, formats or technical capabilities they use. Its platform validates and harmonises data exchanged between businesses, creating a common data layer that can also be used by AI agents to automate supply chain transactions.

Patrick Thelen, CEO and co-founder of Procuros, said that while AI is developing rapidly, supply chains continue to rely on decades-old infrastructure, leaving operations teams to bridge gaps between systems that are unable to communicate effectively:

We built Procuros to change that. Our infrastructure gives retailers, suppliers and AI agents the connectivity and trusted data they need to automate trade and make autonomous supply chains possible. Because ultimately, AI agents are only as good as the infrastructure they run on.

From an investor perspective, XAnge pointed to Procuros' progress in the DACH region and its potential to expand internationally. Valerie Bures-Bönström, Partner and Managing Director DACH at XAnge, said the company has demonstrated its model at scale in the region and built infrastructure that enables AI agents to operate across trading networks. She added that the firm sees an opportunity for Procuros to expand beyond its home market and establish a new category in global B2B trade.

Procuros will use the new funding to scale its go-to-market activities, further develop its AI-native supply chain infrastructure and accelerate international expansion, bringing more businesses onto its network and enabling AI agents to manage more workflows across companies and markets.
