Procuros, a Hamburg-based supply chain connectivity platform, has raised a €20 million Series A funding round.
The round was led by XAnge, a European venture capital firm based in Paris and Berlin with around €600 million in assets under management and part of the Siparex Group. W23, a global venture capital fund backed by five leading grocery retailers, joined as a new investor, with existing backers Point Nine, Creandum, and b2venture following on, alongside several angel investors. The Series A funding round comes after the company had raised €1 million pre-Seed in 2021 and €8.3 million Seed in 2022.
“Procuros is showing that AI agents can make autonomous B2B trade a reality today. The team has built the infrastructure AI agents need to work across entire trading networks and proven the model at scale in DACH. What excites us is the opportunity ahead: to take this beyond its home market and establish an entirely new category for global B2B trade,” said Valerie Bures-Bönström, Partner and Managing Director DACH at XAnge.
Founded in 2021 by Patrick Thelen and Benjamin Bradford, Procuros serves suppliers and retailers with a connectivity platform that acts as the agentic data layer for B2B trade. It is built on a simple premise: businesses connect to Procuros once and can immediately exchange data with any trading partner, regardless of what systems, formats, or technical setups those partners use. The platform is designed to validate data on both sides of a transaction, eliminating the need for complex point-to-point integrations.
For suppliers, Procuros automates the flow of orders, shipping notices, invoices, and logistics workflows directly into ERP systems, eliminating manual data entry. For retailers, it delivers a fully digital supplier connectivity platform covering EDI connections, e-invoicing, and automated invoice reconciliation. The company claims its platform has 99%+ data accuracy and up to 95% less manual processing.
From purchase orders and dispatch advice to invoices, the global supply chain handles millions of documents every day, but the infrastructure behind it is old, and many transactions still arrive in the form of PDFs, spreadsheets, or even fax. Procuros believes AI can change that, and its platform is the connectivity layer.
“AI is advancing at incredible speed, while supply chains still run on infrastructure built decades ago. Operations teams are forced to bridge these gaps between systems that simply don’t communicate. We built Procuros to change that. Our infrastructure gives retailers, suppliers and AI agents the connectivity and trusted data they need to automate trade and make autonomous supply chains possible. Because ultimately, AI agents are only as good as the infrastructure they run on,” said Thelen, CEO and co-founder of Procuros.
Procuros already has more than 300 customers across DACH and the UK, including Breuninger, Chefs Culinar, KoRo, flaconi, The Quality Group (ESN), and Hitschler. The company says it has more than €3 billion in annualised order volume flowing through the platform.
The Series A funding will be used across three main areas: scaling Procuros’ go-to-market operations, further developing its AI-native supply chain infrastructure, and driving international expansion beyond its home markets in DACH and the UK into the rest of Europe and the United States.
