Cybersecurity startup Hadrian raises €35.68 million to scale its agentic AI offensive security platform

Hadrian, a London-Amsterdam-based agentic AI offensive security platform, today announced a €35.68 million ($40 million) funding round to fund expansion across EMEA and the U.S. and deepen investment in its engineering and research teams.

The round was co-led by Forgepoint Capital International and SmartFin, with participation from existing investors HV Capital, Motive Partners, Picus Capital and Oetker Ventures. The backing brings the company’s total funding to nearly €58 million ($65 million).

Rogier Fischer, CEO of Hadrian, said, “Everyone can see that AI is changing the threat landscape. It might also hold the answer, but most people are focused on automating the wrong bits. We have been working with LLMs since before they went mainstream, and we know that AI can work much faster than any human offensive security team. So we built a platform that emulates hackers’ attack paths, helping our customers to understand their key risks and prioritise their security resources appropriately.”

Founded in 2021 in Amsterdam by Fischer, Olivier Beg and Maurice Clin, Hadrian offers an offensive security platform that helps enterprise security teams identify, verify and close security gaps before attackers can exploit them.

The company says its agentic engine delivers always-on discovery, validation, and mobilisation of an organisation’s most critical cyber risks. It adapts to each organisation’s environment to probe, discover and validate the risks attackers can actually exploit. Coupled with a proprietary predictive discovery agent, Hadrian autonomously verifies remediation, delivering an end-to-end solution.

The cybersecurity startup highlighted how AI has upended the offensive security landscape and cited recent reports of AI agents escaping test environments and hacking company systems without human direction. It also referenced Anthropic’s disclosure that criminals and state-linked groups had used its models to automate entire attack chains and write zero-day exploits.

According to the company, while attackers now move at machine speed, many security teams are years behind and still run manual pentests. It also noted that the volume of irrelevant signals distracts teams, making it difficult to determine which exposures are exploitable.

Hadrian argues there is a real market need for a solution that can identify genuine threats and cut through the noise. It claims to let businesses see security through a hacker’s eyes, map the digital footprint, discover risks, and prioritise remediation so security teams can harden their external attack surfaces.

It states that humans set the mission and make the decisions that matter, while AI does the work in between, providing the coverage, repetition and speed that no team can sustain around the clock.

To achieve this, Hadrian combines continuous exposure management and agentic penetration testing in one platform and claims to be the only vendor offering this approach. Its product Atlas continuously maps an organisation’s external attack surface and uses purpose-built AI agents to validate which exposures are actually exploitable. Nora, its other product, provides agentic pentesting on demand at a human pentest level and beyond.

Together, the company reports that these products deliver 10x greater visibility into critical exposures, 80% faster time to resolution, and 5x ROI compared to manual pentesting.

Damien Henault, Managing Director and Partner at Forgepoint Capital International, said, “There are too many vulnerabilities and noise out there for teams to manage, so they need tools that can help them see clearly and think like AI-armed hackers. Hadrian’s AI native always-on solution delivers both depth and breadth and helps its customers to focus on genuine issues and risks, and the companies using its platform are testament to both its innovative approach and the strength of its team, both aspects which make them a natural choice for us to back.”

Hadrian works with companies in the US and Europe, including Fortune 500 leaders and industry disruptors such as McKesson, NBCUniversal, Francisco Partners, Total Energies, Amadeus, Leroy Merlin, and Damen Shipyard.
