Sunil Singhania adds new stock to portfolio in Q2 after 140% rally; likely exits Cyient DLM
Sunil Singhania, founder of Abakkus Asset Management and one of India's most closely watched veteran investors, added a new stock to his portfolio in the second quarter of FY27 and increased his stake in another company. He also appears to have exited small cap company Cyient DLM.

Shareholding data from the BSE showed that Abakkus Flexi Cap Fund acquired a 1.15% stake in Aether Industries, equivalent to 15.32 lakh shares. The stock has delivered a sharp 140% gain over the past year and has risen nearly 100% since the beginning of the year.

Based in Surat, Gujarat, Aether Industries is an Indian manufacturer of specialty chemicals and advanced intermediates. The company develops and manufactures complex chemical building blocks, advanced intermediates and active ingredients.

Singhania, through Abakkus Flexi Cap Fund, also purchased an additional 0.5% stake in Heritage Foods. The stock, however, has declined 14% since the beginning of the year. Heritage Foods is one of India's leading private-sector dairy and agribusiness enterprises. Its product portfolio includes branded milk and value-added dairy products such as curd, ghee, paneer, ice cream, butter, flavoured milk and buttermilk.

Singhania's portfolio moves are closely tracked by retail and institutional investors alike, with his investment decisions often drawing attention as potential indicators of emerging opportunities and shifts in market sentiment.

Sunil Singhania Q2 activity

Abakkus Flexi Cap Fund has likely exited Cyient DLM, with its shareholding falling below the 1% disclosure threshold. Trendlyne data showed that Sunil Singhania had increased his stake in the company by 0.2% in Q1.

The potential exit comes after a sharp rally in the stock, which surged 210% over six months and gained around 140% since the beginning of the year.

Abakkus Asset Management IPO

Last month, Abakkus Asset Management filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for going public with an IPO.

The proposed initial public offering (IPO) will comprise an Offer for Sale (OFS) of 15 million equity shares, each having a face value of Rs 2. Since the issue is entirely an OFS, the proceeds from the share sale will go to existing selling shareholders.

The IPO is expected to have a 50% allocation for Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs), 15% for Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs), and 35% for retail investors. An employee reservation portion is also proposed as part of the issue structure.

For FY26, the company reported revenue of Rs 796 crore, up from Rs 707 crore in FY25 and Rs 479 crore in FY24. Profit after tax (PAT) rose to Rs 327 crore in FY26, compared with Rs 258 crore in FY25 and Rs 205 crore in FY24.
