WEF to co-brand Autumn Economic Forum 2026 in HCMC

The main forum, co-branded with the World Economic Forum (WEF), is scheduled for October 27-28. Key activities will include a high-level plenary session themed "The Convergence of New Global Growth Engines" and a dialogue between the Vietnamese Prime Minister and delegates on positioning Viet Nam in the global future, both scheduled for October 28.

The program will also feature plenary discussions and dialogues involving ministerial-level leaders from various countries.

On October 27, the forum will hold 16 thematic sessions across three parallel venues, focusing on three key areas: AI and quantum technologies; finance, the digital economy and autonomy; and manufacturing, sustainability and next-generation industries.

Two sessions will be jointly organized with the WEF, addressing "Repositioning Viet Nam and ASEAN in Global Value Chains" and "From AI Deployment to Future Manufacturing Workforce Readiness."

Other activities will include international conferences on promoting the twin transition of digital and green transformation in key industrial sectors towards carbon neutrality; exhibitions showcasing new technological solutions and innovation; Open Innovation Day 2026; the CEO 500 - TEA CONNECT program; the annual meeting of the Global C4IR Network; and bilateral investment promotion workshops.

According to the organisers, the WEF's co-branding of the Autumn Economic Forum is unprecedented. The partnership is expected to expand the event's international reach through the global network of Centers for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, while underscoring growing international interest in the forum.

The event comes as Viet Nam enters a new era of development, with targets of achieving annual GDP growth of over 10 percent and raising the digital economy's share to 30 percent of GDP by 2030.

Realising these ambitions requires the mobilisation of international resources, including capital, technology and strategic partnerships. As one of Viet Nam's leading economic and innovation hubs, Ho Chi Minh City is well positioned to attract these resources and strengthen its role in regional and global economic networks.

The forum aims to promote Ho Chi Minh City and Viet Nam as attractive, transparent and dynamic investment destinations, while fostering connections among regional and global initiatives, resources and partners./.
