Kim Jones to launch label under own name for first time in almost 20 years

Kim Jones, described as “one of the defining designers of his generation”, who has spent almost 20 years shaping collections for some of the biggest fashion houses in the world, will be launching a label under his own name again for AW27.

It will mark a major new chapter in his career, as Jones closed his original eponymous label in 2008 - having launched it in 2003 and collaborated with the brands including BOSS, Umbro and Topman - to take on the role of Creative Director at Dunhill.

Jones left his role as Artistic Director for Menswear at Dior after seven years in January 2025 and subsequently took up the position of Creative Director for Areal, a new luxury sub-brand from Chinese down outerwear giant, Bosideng.

He had previously also held the position of Style Director of the men’s ready-to-wear division at LVMH flagship house Louis Vuitton (from 2011-2018), as well as having a spell as Artistic Director of Womenswear and Couture at Fendi.

Commenting on relaunching his eponymous label, Jones said: “After many years working with incredible houses and collaborators, it feels like the right moment to do something under my own name again.

“This brings together the things I’ve always been interested in - fashion, art and design - and gives me the space to work with people I admire and explore new ideas. I’m excited about what comes next.”

The first Kim Jones collection will launch from mid-2027 exclusively at www.kimjones.com, followed by the opening of the first Kim Jones store at Central Yards in Hong Kong in October 2027, as well as further stores across Asia and selected retail partners.

Predominantly made in Japan, with leather goods made in Italy, the collection will reflect the quality and craftsmanship synonymous with Jones’ work, at a considered price point. Designed with versatility at its core, it will offer “a broader wardrobe unrestricted by traditional categories”.
