When it comes to expanding the online presence of a business, there’s no denying the dominance of social media. That being said, there are certainly still merits to having a consistent online base for your business to call home – this is when business owners will start thinking about web hosting sites.
As a tech writer, I've spent years using them for professional and personal use, and Hostinger is one of the services that I’ve been impressed by. Established in 2004, the Lithuanian-based company offers many data centres across 11 countries, so it should suit all your geographical needs.
In use, I found it scales well for many different needs, from creating a simple website to email hosting or having a WordPress blog. And you can build out your plan for your needs, whether that includes setting up a VPS, game server, or having your own n8n workflows in a self-hosted capacity.
A number of rival web hosting sites, such as GoDaddy, Cloudways and Bluehost, also have a lot to offer, though. With that in mind, I’ve thoroughly examined Hostinger’s offering and shared my thoughts on exactly why I believe its website hosting is worth your time and money.
How I tested
To review Hostinger appropriately, I evaluated its plans before signing up to its Premium hosting option. I then spent extensive time using the service, setting up a website, and investigating how well the web hosting provider works for general use. The verdict: Hostinger web hosting
Hostinger is an excellent web hosting service. It’s simple to use if you haven’t set up a website before – but if you know what you’re doing, you have all the power and options you could need. It’s refreshing to be able to set up a site within a few minutes to start with, then gradually build up your knowledge and develop the site further.
Hostinger’s extensive knowledge base helps, along with Kodee being a genuinely helpful AI assistant. Fast speeds and a host of other useful features as you expand all lead to an experience that will make you keen to commit to two years and beyond with this service. That goes even further if your plans are more ambitious and you start considering signing up for a VPS. I found I could host my website through one part of the dashboard while creating a Minecraft server on my VPS. It’s all neatly tied together, simplifying the process.
How I tested Hostinger web hosting
On this occasion, I used Hostinger’s web hosting service for 10 days. I’ve previously used Hostinger for many months over the years. I looked at these key factors:
- Ease of use: I evaluated each plan to set up a website with Hostinger and looked at how simple they are all to use. This included spending some time designing a website, either by dragging and dropping elements, or by entering relevant AI prompts.
- Performance and speed: I looked at how fast the service worked for me and how quickly websites created by Hostinger can load. That included using Google services to independently evaluate the speed of a website.
- Features: I dived into all the features of Hostinger to check that these are genuinely useful. I also looked at how simple they are to use and if any additional fees are involved.
- Pricing: I looked at the value for money Hostinger offers. I compared this to other similar web hosting providers and determined whether Hostinger is worth paying for and why.
