A delegation of 22 Italian companies will visit Brazil from 19 to 24 October 2026 as part of a trade mission aimed at strengthening commercial and industrial cooperation between the two countries’ textile sectors.

Organised by the Italian Trade Agency in collaboration with ACIMIT, the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, and Confindustria Moda, the initiative will include workshops on 20 October in Santa Catarina and 22 October in São Paulo.

The delegation comprises 18 textile machinery manufacturers alongside companies specialising in yarns, fabrics and clothing accessories, representing expertise across the Italian textile supply chain.

The programme will feature technical presentations, business-to-business meetings with Brazilian manufacturers and visits to local production facilities. Activities in Santa Catarina will cover the textile manufacturing centres of Blumenau, Joinville and Brusque, while the São Paulo programme will include Americana and Denim City São Paulo, an important hub for textile and denim innovation.

Brazil remains a strategically important market for Italian textile machinery manufacturers. Exports to the country reached €48 million in 2025, with a further €20 million recorded during the first half of 2026. Brazil currently ranks tenth among the industry’s leading export destinations.

Finishing machinery accounts for the largest share of Italian textile machinery exports to Brazil at 57%, followed by accessories and other machinery, each representing 11%. Knitting machinery accounts for 10%, highlighting opportunities for Italian technology suppliers serving Brazil’s established knitwear and textile manufacturing industries.

Marco Salvadè, President of ACIMIT, said Brazil offers significant opportunities for further industrial cooperation, particularly as local manufacturers seek to improve production efficiency, sustainability and technological capabilities.

“Brazil is a market of great interest to our industry, with which we have well-established commercial relations and significant prospects for collaboration,” he said.

Salvadè added that the mission would provide an opportunity to strengthen dialogue between Italian suppliers and Brazilian manufacturers, while demonstrating the contribution that innovative, flexible and sustainable technologies can make to the modernisation of the country’s textile industry.

The 18 participating textile machinery companies are Biancalani, BTSR, Color Service, Corino Macchine, Durst, Reggiani Macchine, Erhardt + Leimer, Ferraro, I.M.A., Itema, Lawer, M.C.S. Officina Meccanica, Mesdan, Monti-Mac, MSJK (MS Printing & JK Group), Pinter Caipo Italia, Salvadè and Savio Macchine Tessili.

The mission forms part of wider efforts to promote Italian textile technology internationally and develop closer relationships with manufacturing centres in key export markets.

Founded in 1945, ACIMIT represents an Italian textile machinery industry comprising approximately 300 companies, with annual production valued at around €2.1 billion. Approximately 86% of production is exported to 130 countries worldwide, covering technologies for spinning, weaving, knitting, finishing and other textile manufacturing processes.
