UK composites machinery specialist Cygnet Texkimp will highlight its technologies for increasing production rates in advanced composites manufacturing at Advanced Engineering and Composites Engineering 2026, taking place at the NEC Birmingham on November 4-5.

Exhibiting on the Composites UK Pavilion at stand W170, the company will present its range of fibre processing and manufacturing technologies for the aerospace, space, automotive, defence and construction sectors.

Sales director Joe Summers will provide an update on the company’s award-winning Automated Rapid Tape (ART) technology, developed from an original concept by McLaren Automotive. The system is designed to manufacture high-performance, lightweight composite preforms by laying down large volumes of fibre rapidly and accurately, enabling higher production rates while minimising material waste.

Summers will present the technology at the Composites Engineering Forum on November 4th at 13.25, followed by a panel discussion entitled Can composites deliver at rate?

“Rate is a key driver for an industry focused on making composite materials and parts viable on a bigger scale,” he says. “At this year’s Advanced Engineering, we’re highlighting the technologies we’re developing to achieve high-grade, composites-intensive components at higher production rates while maximising the quality and performance of the end product.”

The company will also showcase its compact, energy-efficient Multi-Roll Stack prepreg processing machinery, designed for rapid set-up and changeovers. The system offers materials manufacturers a flexible, space-saving solution for prepreg production.

Other technologies on show will include specialist 3D weaving creels engineered to support the efficient production of strong, lightweight and complex structural composite forms, particularly for aerospace applications.

Cygnet Texkimp will further highlight its high-throughput, fully automated multi-axis filament winding systems for manufacturing lightweight composite components, alongside its high-tension winding technology for the carbon fibre overwrapping of high-speed electric motors.

Meanwhile, two of the company’s engineers have been shortlisted for the Professor Alan Banks Young Engineer of the Year award at the Composites UK Industry Awards. Lead fitter Frazer Scott and software engineer Sophie Warburton are both finalists, with the winners to be announced at the awards dinner on November 4th at the National Motorcycle Museum near Birmingham.
